American Cinema Editors’ Eddie Awards

Royce Hall UCLA, Los Angeles, CA

Every year, American Cinema Editors gathers more than a thousand of the entertainment industry’s most accomplished editors, filmmakers, and talent to celebrate excellence in the craft of film and television editing, at the Annual ACE Eddie Awards.  The show and correlating after party has been running since 1951 and ZOē Productions has the honor of working on it since 2001.   While there have been a tremendous number of stellar memories from the events across the years – one of our favorites to produce was 2024.   Top honors went to filmmaker John Waters, presented by director Kevin Smith and Editor Walter Murch, ACE (Apocalypse Now, The Godfather Part II, and American Graffiti), presented by George Lucas.  The show was hosted by the incomparable Nina West, who delighted the audience with a rollicking performance of  “Eddie the Musical”, and guests were treated to the musical stylings of Tom Kinney and the Hi-Seas at the party (you may know Tom as the voice of Sponge Bob).   We did things a little differently this year….brunch instead of dinner, a musical act to start the show for the first time, pink boas and flamingos to nod to John Water’s campy spirit…and it culminated in a genuinely joyful celebration unlike any other in ACE’s 75-year history.
